Nancy Pelosi Announces That The House Will Proceed With Impeachment, What Does Cal Cunningham Think?
December 5th, 2019
Cunningham Ducked The Question Three Times In An Interview Earlier This Week
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – With Nancy Pelosi’s announcement today that the House Judiciary Committee will begin drafting articles of impeachment against President Trump, North Carolinians deserve to know where Cal Cunningham stands on the issue.
In an interview earlier this week , Cunningham dodged three different times when asked if he had seen enough evidence to support a House vote in favor of impeachment. Cunningham’s vague position stands in stark contrast to his primary opponent Erica Smith, who said Tuesday that “President Trump should be impeached.”
“At least Erica Smith is brave enough to be honest about her support for radical ideas like Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, decriminalizing border crossings, and impeaching President Trump,” said Tillis campaign spokesman Andrew Romeo. “Cal Cunningham, however, is so determined to try to avoid taking stances on the liberal policies of his party, that he continues to ask for North Carolinians for their votes without telling them how he would vote on the most pressing issue facing Congress.”
Senator Tillis has been clear over the last few months that the Democrats’ partisan impeachment push is a waste of time and that Congress should get back to work on the issues that matter.
